Archive Shelving
The primary purpose that archive shelving serves is to retain documents for long periods of time. While storing and archiving documents is important, being able to access these documents quickly is also an important aspect of archive shelving. Archive shelving typically comes with the ability to stack one or two boxes side by side, with each shelf providing the entire unit with a specific weight capacity.
The key aspect of archive shelving is not only the ability to store boxes with documents ñ but is the ability to keep documents organized neatly and accessible. If documents are put into boxes to be stored away and rarely accessed, then archive shelving is not the appropriate method to store them. Archive shelving allows for a person to access documents by finding a specific box on a shelf which contains the document being sought out.
Archive shelving is available to be purchased in various sizes, depending upon the box size that is being archived. Each box size is determined by the size of documents that are being stored, as well as the weight that each box will contain. Typically archive shelving is ordered based upon the box dimensions, and whether they are to be single width or double width.
