Industrial Shelving

Industrial shelving is versatile to fit all types of sizes, loads, and spaces. These industrial shelving units can be stacked on top of one another in order to create multiple levels of shelves which will help utilize space well. Variations between manufacturers will have to do with seismic ratings, weight capacities, and adjustability, and color choices. When choosing industrial shelving, there are various choices to make with regard to the height, width, and depth of each shelving unit, as well as how heavy each unit is before placing anything on it.

Industrial shelving is built to hold large amounts of weight - more so than the average office shelf would be built to hold. An average industrial shelving unit will hold much more weight than the highest-rated shelf of non-industrial shelving. Typical office grade industrial shelving is built to hold 600 pounds on each shelf. In contrast, the usual heavy duty industrial shelving is meant to sustain a total of 900 pounds on each shelf. Most industrial shelving units are made of steel, with the option of adding additional shelves per unit at additional costs. Other features that can be added by retailers are the ability to add panels along side existing shelves, as well as providing additional posts for support.
